DAYS 1 - 12
The Full Itinerary
Cairo · Nile River Cruise · Cairo
Day 1 — Arrive in Cairo
Arrive in Cairo, where you will be met by a representative who will assist with luggage, customs and immigration. With everything taken care of, you'll be driven to your hotel to settle in and rest.
Day 2 — Grand Egyptian Museum & Alabaster Mosque
A full day of captivating attractions begins with the Grand Egyptian Museum — the world's largest archaeological museum with 100,000 artifacts on display, including the complete and priceless treasures of Tutankhamun. After a local lunch, visit the Alabaster Mosque sitting majestically on the summit of the Citadel of Saladin's courtyard, with breathtaking views across the city to the Pyramids of Giza. The evening concludes with a Welcome Reception featuring tapas and drinks.
Day 3 — Memphis, Saqqara & Pyramids of Giza
Discover the monuments at the ancient capital of Memphis — the statue of Ramses II, the Alabaster Sphinx, and the necropolis of Saqqara with the famous Step Pyramid of King Zoser, the oldest pyramid on earth. Enjoy lunch at the historic Mena House in the shadow of the Pyramids, then explore the Great Sphinx and the iconic Giza complex — three magnificent pyramids built between 2,589 BC and 2,504 BC.
Day 4 — Coptic Cairo & Embark in Luxor
Visit Coptic Cairo, a neighbourhood known for its historic churches and monasteries. Then fly south to Luxor — formerly Thebes, capital of the New Kingdom of Upper Egypt and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Board your luxurious Nile river cruise ship, settle into your stateroom, and celebrate with a Captain's Welcome Cocktail before dinner.
Day 5 — Valley of the Kings & Queens
Begin with the Valley of Queens, home to the mummified remains of more than 30 queens and princesses. Continue to the Valley of the Kings — one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world — including rare access to the Tomb of Seti I. Visit the Temple of Hatshepsut, Egypt's first female ruler, and conclude with the Colossi of Memnon. Back on board, join the chef for an informal Nubian cooking class.
Day 6 — Temple of Horus at Edfu
Explore one of Egypt's most remarkably preserved temples — the Temple of Horus at Edfu. Built in 230 BC, it is the second-largest temple in Egypt and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with walls displaying compelling details about the religion and language of the Greco-Roman period.
Day 7 — Aswan & Felucca Sail
Enjoy free time in Aswan or take an optional excursion to Abu Simbel — the 3,000-year-old UNESCO World Heritage Site dedicated to Ramses II, with four colossal statues each measuring nearly 70 feet high. In the afternoon, take a peaceful felucca ride around Elephantine Island. Optionally, savour afternoon tea at the historic Old Cataract Hotel, a 19th-century Victorian Palace in rose granite overlooking the Nile.
Day 8 — Philae Temple, Nubian Village & Kom Ombo
Cruise to the UNESCO-designated Philae Temple complex, dedicated to the goddess Isis, with some of Egypt's most beautifully restored hieroglyphs. Visit a colourful Nubian village on Heisa Island, the Nubian Cultural Center, and browse essential oils and unique textiles. Continue to the Great Temple of Kom Ombo, dramatically rising above the Nile — uniquely dedicated to two gods, the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon-headed Haroeris. In the evening, celebrate local customs with a traditional Galabeya party.
Day 9 — Scenic Cruising, Karnak & Luxor Temple
Spend a leisurely morning cruising the Nile back to Luxor. Visit the vast Karnak Temple complex — the largest religious complex in Egypt covering 200 acres, with its legendary Hypostyle Hall of 134 colossal columns. Discover the ancient art of papyrus making, then explore the Temple of Luxor, constructed over centuries by Amenhotep III, Ramses II, and Tutankhamun. Browse the colourful Luxor Market before a special chef-curated dinner celebrating Black and African culinary traditions.
Day 10 — Temple of Hathor at Dendera
Sail to Qena to visit the best-preserved temple in Egypt — the Temple of Hathor at Dendera, dedicated to the Goddess of Love, to whom the powers of joy, feminine love, and motherhood were attributed. Look for the relief depicting Cleopatra with Caesarion, her son by Julius Caesar, on the back of the temple. Cruise back to Luxor for your final evening on the Nile.
Day 11 — Disembark & Abdeen Palace
Disembark in Luxor and fly back to Cairo for an exclusive private tour of the Abdeen Presidential Palace — considered one of the most luxurious palaces in the world, housing multiple museums including the Silver Museum, Arms Museum, and Royal Family Museum. Be treated to a special lunch at the palace before transferring to your Cairo hotel for your final night.
Day 12 — Departure
Bid farewell to Cairo and prepare for your flight home, carrying with you the depth of the Nile, the grandeur of the temples, and the warmth of the people you've encountered along the way.
